The 1st Bi-Annual High School Welding Cup was held at the Formosa Training and Development Center Welding School Wednesday, December 11, 2019.  Thirty-two area high school students were challenged to compete with other high schools from Beeville, Calhoun, Goliad, Hallettsville and Victoria.  Overhead Plate and Vertical Plate welding criteria were the focus of the event.  Following the competition the 2nd Annual Welding Expo was held to show the students the latest techniques and equipment available for welders.

The Welding Cup competition will be held again in April 2020 at the Formosa Training and Development Center. .
